Gary Silverman is the President of Abonar Title Company. He is a cofounder of the company and has managed the firm since its inception in 2005.
Mr. Silverman was a McCabe Scholar at Swarthmore College, receiving his B.A. in 1980. He went on to receive his J.D. from the Washington College of Law in 1983.
Mr. Silverman became licensed to practice law in Maryland in 1983 and in the District of Columbia in 1984. He worked in a small private practice from 1983 to 1988, where he started his real estate practice. He thrived in the private practice of law at the firm of Richards, Richards and Silverman from 1988 to 2005. During this time Mr. Silverman not only did real estate law but also engaged in civil and criminal litigation. In 2005, Mr. Silverman helped found Abonar Title Company, and in 2007 he became its President.
Mr. Silverman married his high school sweetheart, Angela, on August 8, 1981. The Silverman’s have three (3) children, Lindsay (30), Julie (29) and Ben (25). Gary played basketball at Division III Swarthmore College, scoring over 1000 points in his career. He satisfied his love of athletics by coaching children at all levels in basketball and baseball for over twenty (20) years. Mr. Silverman now referees basketball for the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO), Board 12.
